Big Mac

I had to run a few errands today and was listening to the local news station for updates on the snow storm headed our way
In between the weather reports, I heard a report about a fast food restaurant ban near DC. Prince Georges County Maryland, if I heard it right
They are not planning to shut down existing burger and taco joints, but to stop issuing the required building permits needed to build additional stores.
Their reasoning was to help end the obesity problems, and to control trans fat, and a bunch of other worthless none sense
They also reported that other " sit down " restaurants would not be included in the ban, as the members of this highly educated panel said that these " sit downs " were much more healthy than the dollar menu's we are used to today.
The first thing this report made me want to do was grab a Big Mac.
What happened to choice ? Why is it that we cant decide for ourselves what we want to eat ?
I will support my Big Mac, and the occasional Whopper with cheese.
I will continue to praise the dollar menu.
Sometimes we just don't have the time, or the cash to sit back at the Olive Garden, or the Red Lobster.
I do enjoy those places, but sometimes you need a drive-thru

Garden

Just wanted to brag on my garden a little

Squash is lookin real good
I think I will be grilling these guys by Sunday

Cucumbers are popping up everywhere, and still blooming

I put in some banana peppers this year and they are coming in great. You can smell them

I put in cherry tomatoes, big boys, and tried the bunch tomatoes this year. I am going to pick a few of the big boys and fry them green. Just a hint, bread them in cornmeal instead of flower
Besides a little 7 dust, I have no chemicals on my plants, and all year I till in old veggies, leftover fish parts, and crab and shrimp shells

My favorite Italian place

I am an Italian food junkie. A fan of spaghetti. Lover of lasagna. So the smile on my face appeared when my wife said let's go to Olive Garden last night. I love that place. I could eat a hundred of those bread sticks, and a gallon of that minestrone soup.We can never agree to an appetizer, so we order the pick 3, which almost always include the calamari, fried mushrooms, and fried zucchini. I think I have ordered the tour of Italy every single time I have been there. It is my absolute favorite. It has lasagna, chicken parmigiana, and fettuccine Alfredo. My wife had the seafood Alfredo with shrimp and scallops.
All this, with a little wine, and my night was perfect. I have never gotten a bad meal from Olive Garden, and the people there are the best. It will probably be about 2 weeks before I can go back, because Olive Garden is a "treat " for us, and it is well worth it. Take my advise, hit the Olive Garden soon, it's always been worth the trip for me.
