Opening Day

Every small town has one, and Ours closes for the Winter in October.
But on Valentines Day it opens for business and the Custard starts to flow

What I am talking about is our local ice cream stand
Carls has been around since 1947, and is the same now as it was when I was a little kid. They serve frozen custard and have cones, shakes, malts, slush's, and a line that usually winds around the front of the building. It's not so bad though, the service is fast, and the line moves at a good pace.

On my recent visit for a chocolate malt, and some real strawberry shakes for the boys, I noticed a plaque on the building that said Carls has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Fredericksburg Va is full of history and was a big part of the early colonies and the Civil War, you can check it out here http://www.visitfred.com/default.asp

I think the Frozen Custard deserves top billing.
